While we regularly write about the MIT Sloan MBA program admissions process, we have also helped a significant number of experienced candidates gain admission to the MIT Sloan Fellows program.
This programs is often described as a 1-year MBA program for leaders who are ready to join the senior leadership ranks at their firm. However, a number of participants (some of which attended classes with me at Harvard – Sloan Fellows can indeed cross-register and take MBA classes there) regularly switch careers after graduation, and several have become successful entrepreneurs over the years.
MIT Sloan just started conducting interviews for the Fellows program, and will continue to do so over the next 10 days.
These interviews are regularly conducted by MIT Sloan Fellow’s director of admissions, Mr. Sacca himself, and are quite different from traditional MIT MBA interviews.
The interview for the Sloan Fellows program is usually conducted in a much more casual setting than the MBA interview. Past year clients even described it as a very pleasant experience, and considered it to be more of a conversation than an actual interview. The fact that roughly 60 to 80% of interviewed candidates eventually receive an offer post interview is certainly helping reduce the amount of pressure they feel. The questions are fairly standard, and revolve around the candidate’s experience, his / her strengths and weaknesses, and specific accomplishments (it is key to know your application inside out before stepping into the interview).
We’ve worked successfully with a fair amount of Sloan Fellows in the past (who have usually applied both to MIT or Stanford), and we would be happy to help you prepare for your upcoming interview. Should you be interested, please feel free to have a look at the services we offer and do not hesitate to contact us to find out more about the assistance we can provide for your MIT Sloan interview prep.
If interested, please send us an email, and let us know the kind of package you are considering (one mock interview for $295 or interview prep + strategy session for $495).
Good luck !
